Visa
All visitors to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and visa. Visitors with roundtrip tickets from countries who have a special agreement with Korea may be exempt from the visa requirement, and can stay in Korea visa-free for up to 30 days, or 90 days, depending on the type of agreement between two countries. Please contact the Korean embassy or a consulate in your country as early as possible.
Application for Visas
- - Visitors who plan to stay in Korea for longer than 90 days must obtain a visa before entering Korea.
- - Nationals of those countries or regions with which Korea has signed a visa waiver agreement can enter without a visa, on the condition that they do not engage in remunerative activities during their stay.

- - Visa applicants are required to submit passport, application forms, a recent passport-size color photograph, and other relevant documents as determined by their status of stay.

(COVID-19) Isolation Exemption Certificate Notice
- The Government of the Republic of Korea may grant an Isolation Exemption Certificate (IEC) in exceptional circumstances where the Government of the Republic of Korea deems there is a significant business, academic, public interests or humane reason for foreign nationals to visit the Republic of Korea on a short-term basis from 1 April 2020.
- In order to apply for the “Isolation Exemption Certificate”, you must visit Korea on 90-day visa free travel or the purpose of the visit must be (a) important business/academic activities, (b) activities related to public services, (c) urgent humanitarian reasons. If these two conditions are met, you can apply to receivethe Certificate by filling in the attached application form and submitting it, along with any supporting document, to the Republic of Korea Embassy or Consulate General. Once your application is approved by the Embassy or Consulate General, you will be issued with the Certificate. You can contact ANY of the ROK Embassy or Consulate Generals.
- When you arrive in Korea with the "Isolation Exemption Certificate", you will be escorted to a separate facility outside of Incheon International Airport for COVID-19 diagnostic testing. The test result will be available in 6 to 24 hours. Accommodation will be provided if an overnight stay is required
- A. If the test result is negative, you will be exempt from the 14-day self-quarantine. However, you will be still subject to "Active Monitoring,” which includes daily submission of health status information via “Self-Diagnosis App” and answering daily phone call from health authorities, throughout your stay in Korea.
- B. If the test result is positive, you will be moved to hospitals or designated treatment centers for treatment/quarantine, regardless of the Isolation Exemption Certificate.
