Abstract
The paper describes the work of the Working Group on Wind Structure, one of the International Codification Working Groups set up by the International Association of Wind Engineering in 1999. The topics of terrain and exposure, shielding and shelter, topographic effects, tropical cyclone and hurricane wind structure, and thunderstorm wind structure, are described with emphasis on their codification in wind loading codes and standards. Recommendations from the working group are given.

Key Words

Abstract
This paper describes the work of the International Association for Wind Engineering Working Group E -Dynamic Response, one of the International Codification Working Groups set up at the Tenth International Conference on Wind Engineering in Copenhagen. Comparisons of gust loading factors and wind-induced responses of major codes and standards are first reviewed, and recent new proposals on 3-D gust loading factor techniques are introduced. Then, the combined effects of along-wind, crosswind and torsional wind load components are discussed, as well as the dynamic characteristics of buildings. Finally, the mathematical forms of along-wind velocity spectra for along-wind response calculation and codification of acceleration criteria are discussed.

Key Words
gust loading factor; wind load combination; wind spectra; building dynamic characteristics; acceleration criteria.

Abstract
The paper describes the work of the IAWE Working Group WGF - Extreme Wind Prediction and Zoning, one of the international codification working groups set up in 2000. The topics covered are: the international database of extreme winds, quality assurance and data quality, averaging times, return periods, probability distributions and fitting methods, mixed wind climates, directionality effects, the influence of orography, rare events and simulation methods, long-term climate change, and zoning and mapping. Recommendations are given to promote the future alignment of international codes and standards for wind loading.

Abstract
This paper describes the work of the Working Group on wind pressure coefficients on low-rise structures, one of the groups set up by the International Association of Wind Engineering in 1999. General aspects of wind loading on low-rise structures are summarized. The definition, derivation and codification of loading coefficients is described. Comparisons of pressure coefficients on low rise structures are made between a selection of wind loading standards. Recommendations for consistency and for the harmonization of these coefficients are given.

Key Words
codes; low-rise buildings; pressure coefficients; walls; roofs

Abstract
The paper describes the work of the IAWE Working Group WBG - Reliability and Code Level, one of the International Codification Working Groups set up at ICWE10 in Copenhagen. The following topics are covered: sources of uncertainties in the design wind load, appropriate design target values for the exceedance probability of the design wind load for different structural classes with different consequences of a failure, yearly exceedance probability of the design wind speed and specification of the design aerodynamic coefficient for different design purposes. The recommendations from the working group are summarized at the end of the paper.

Key Words
design wind load; design wind speed; design aerodynamic coefficient; structural classes; uncertainties; extreme values.
